Rahu

In Vedic mythology, Rahu is the head of the cosmic serpent, severed from its body — an image of a desire that never fully satisfies itself. Associated with ambition, the material world, and the pursuit of what we don't yet have, Rahu pushes us toward unknown territory and intense experiences. Its force can drive growth and achievement, but it also calls for discernment, so that ambition doesn't turn into obsession, and desire isn't mistaken for purpose.

Not every desire needs to be denied, but not every desire needs to be followed either. Consider what you pursue so intensely, and ask what lies behind that ambition: genuine growth, a need for recognition, or a hunger that never seems to be satisfied?

What have I been pursuing so intensely — and is that ambition bringing me closer to my purpose, or just feeding the need to always want more?

I recognize my ambitions with awareness and direct my desires toward what is truly meaningful to me.
